Watford Ladies Harts U12 team triumphed at the Maidenhead tournament with both their teams taking 1st and 2nd place.

The Watford Harts U12 CPP team were able to take 2 teams to the Maidenhead U12 Girls tournament, the Yellows and the Reds. Each were placed in separate leagues of 6 teams. After some excellent games the Reds topped their group whilst the Yellows finished 3rd in theirs. This was ideal as it meant both teams avoided each other during the next 2 rounds.

The Reds won their Quarter Final with a 1-0 win whilst the Yellows won theirs with a golden goal in extra time. The Semi Finals took place on adjacent pitches at the same time. Both teams were taken all the way to extra time and penalties, and both penalty shoot outs took place at the same time. The Yellows and Reds held their nerve to both triumph and so make the Final. Some of the best scenes of the day were when both teams realised they were in the final together and ran across pitches to celebrate with their team mates.

The Final itself was more like a training match as the girls know each other so well. The teams were so well matched that chances were few and far between and normal time finished 0-0. Extra time went the same way so it was down to penalties. Again the girls couldn't be separated so it came down to sudden death. Eventually the Yellows scored the vital penaltyt, but both teams were outstanding throughout and deserve huge praise for their efforts.
