Week 9 Fixtures Preview

It's almost a full fixture list this weekend; only the U13 Harts are not in action as their fixture against Denham has been postponed.

The U17 Wasps fought hard for a 1-1 draw against Bury Rangers Whites in the league last week and were unlucky not to secure the win.  It's all set for a replay of this exciting battle on Sunday but this time, progression in the League Cup is up for grabs. A hat trick for Watford's Carly Gilbey could see her move from joint fourth to second on the league's goal-scoring leaderboard.

The U15 Harts are looking to put last week's narrow defeat behind them as they face Bishops Stortford. It's all to play for here as Stortford are currently only one place behind the Harts in the League. If they can field a full team, there's every chance here for the Harts to secure a great result.

After a week off, the U15 Hornets are now  raring to go against Bedwell Rangers. The high-flying Hornets may expect to maintain their unbeaten record this season but with Bedwell at the bottom of the league, these opponents will be looking to exploit any over-confidence with a shock victory.

Also fully-rested are the U15 Wasps who are hoping to maintain their record of being unbeaten in the league and extending their lead in the no.1 spot with another 3 points. The Wasps have scored 56 goals in their last 5 matches; can they continue this impressive goal rate against St. Albans?

The U13 Hornets are away to Bury Rangers and the Golden Girls will be looking to put last week's cup defeat behind them and return to their usual winning ways. The Hornets are currently 2 points clear at the top of division 1 and so another win will ensure they remain in the top spot.

The U12s have been training hard in the hope of achieving their first victory of the season as they travel to face Harvesters Blues in the League Cup. One of the great things about cup matches is that the underdog often triumphs, so there's an opportunity here for a morale-boosting win for Watford.

The U11 Harts are having a fantastic season and will be strutting their stuff against the Hoddesdon Owls in the U11 Purple Division this weekend. Watford's Millie Tugby is currently the no.2 top goal scorer in the league; will she make a move on the top spot with a rash of goals on Saturday?

The U11 Hornets have really gelled as a team but will the home advantage for local rivals Garston Ladies prove to be the Hornets undoing? The Hornet's Bliss Murray is in the no.2 goal scorer spot for the U11 Pink Division and needs only 5 goals to take the lead; can she do it in just one match?

Good luck to all of you wonderful Watford Ladies!
