Watford Ladies FC Thriving on all Fronts

It’s been a strong start to the year for Watford Ladies FC, with the First Team rounding off the month with a convincing win against Clapham Utd Women.

Despite missing several players, the young team played with determination and positivity.

Lauren Araniello scored a penalty to give Watford the lead just before the break.

Player of the match, Anna Black, set up Fran Grazioli who hit the back of the net two minutes after coming on to make her senior team debut.

Black was a constant threat, delivering the cross for Reese Ayres to head home in the 83rd minute to seal the 3-0 victory.

You might be able to catch a bit of the First Team in action on TV as the BBC filmed their previous match against Dorking for a documentary they are making about their Surrey rivals.

January saw strong showings across all the WLFC youth Academy and Development teams, with the stand-out result coming from the U14 Hornets, who ended the month on a high with a stunning 6-0 win over Northampton Town.

The club’s top UEFA coaches will be running a soccer camp over half-term for girls aged between nine to 16.

The footballing fun will be at Queens’ School, Bushey from 9.30am – 12.30pm, Tuesday, February 15 to Thursday, February 17.
